A 15-member team of Income Tax Department on Monday conducted massive survey in (DPS)
A 15-member team of Income Tax (IT) Department on Monday conducted massive survey in Delhi Public School (DPS), Chas which is running under aegis of Durgadevi Shivnarayan Memorial Society. Survey is continued till late evening in premises of DPS, Chas in Chamsobaad and the head office of the trust situated near Alka Glass at Main Road, Chas.
The IT team headed by joint commissioner, S K Roy and A K Chowbey found major discrepancies amounting more than 2 crore rupees in the institution. Survey is being conducted under section 133 (A) of Income Tax Act. Accounts related to Income and expenditure, purchase of lands, construction, unsecured loans and others are been checked thoroughly.
There are seven members running the Trust including president, N Murlitharan, general secretary, Suresh Agarwal, Ramanuj Nayar, Anisha Aggarwal and others. The IT officials have asked school and Trust authorities to provide the related book of account and other documents. The discrepancy in tax deduction at source on part of school is also been assessed. “Our investigation is on,” said a tax officer.
